Saturday 9.17

Get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weather! And/or listen to some music:

1) New York City Honey Festival, Rockaway Beach Boardwalk, 10a-sunset. God, I love honey. How many free samples can you stomach? Celebrate the first full year of legal bee-keeping in NYC! Feat. a meade making class at 3p. I can't imagine why I find urban bee-keeping so romantic.

2) It's the second-to-last weekend for Governors Island this season! If you haven't been yet, or even if you have, it's time to go. Ferry's free, leaves from South Street Seaport. Tomorrow from 12-5p RECESS is having a bocce ball tournament, and there's also an art fair this weekend. Figment's insect-themed mini-golf, along with tons of art installations across the island, will be open until 9.25. Check out the calendar for the full breakdown.

3) Wine Down to Sundown at Treehouse Loft (96 Fort Green Place, Brooklyn), 6-10p. Free art exhibit, music, wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres. RSVP to amkting@yahoo.com.

4) Thank You For Listening (Amber Jean Young) art show at VeraMeat (315 E. 9th St.), 6-9p. Free wine, snacks, and live music.
