Switchboard, Listen to This, and 89th and Broke

Whew. I am on a music high from St. Vincent on Thursday and Slow Club tonight, but here are a couple things for which to plan ahead:

1) Didn't get in on the RSVP for the free Matt & Kim concert on 11.8? It's Switchboard #9 on the roof of Hotel Chantelle (92 Ludlow St.), 8p-1a. I have yet to go to one of Telephoned's Switchboard parties, but they always look cool. In addition to Telephoned, Penguin Prison, Cousin Cole, and DJ Rad will be performing. RSVP at Good-Peoples.com.

2) 89th and Broke is throwing a third anniversary party at South Hospitality (1460 Second Avenue) on Thursday 11.10, 7-9p. There will be free Bulldog gin 7-8p, free fried pickles and buffalo wings, and raffle prizes from various businesses. Get a free ticket at the Eventbrite page

3) Did you know it's the 50th Anniversary of The Phantom Tollbooth? The Brooklyn Historical Society is celebrating with author Norton Juster on Sunday, 11.13 at 2p. The event is free, but an RSVP is required. [via Gothamist]
